CORAL REEF DESTRUCTION: HOW YOU CAN HELP

We’ve already lost 27% of the world’s coral reefs and if things don’t drastically change, that number will continue to increase. The Nature Conservancy spells out ten different ways that we can all make a positive impact on reefs around the globe.

One such way is ensuring that you dispose of your trash properly. When you are at the beach, don’t leave fishing nets or lines in the water. Any kind of litter has the potential to harm life in the ocean.

The Nature Conservancy also suggests reaching out to your government representatives to urge them to take action. These are the people who have the power to change laws to further protect our ocean environments and take the correct steps to stop global warming.
